Y City
At the end of the last century, Foundation OA worked on a plan for flooding public play areas. With the development of new residential areas, public playgrounds could be relocated to the canals and quays where they were needed. Movable public space was still unknown in the last century, and even now, new urban development districts lack the public amenities required for growing up youth. The project YCity received considerable publicity for the development of the new neighborhood on the IJburg islands in Amsterdam.
With the increasing pressure on the city and rising water levels in the lowlands, the discussion about the possibilities for creating facilities on water has also become relevant again.
